Hubby's birthday Feast _Dinner Party with family & friends


Aug 30th - Hubby's birthday!
Invited K’s family including girl’s bfriends over for dinner.  Big question. What to serve?  Want to use the fruits of summer!  Tomatos are at their very best right now! 

Appetizers:
Baked Brie marinated with fresh peppers & herbs.  Loved by all!  Thank God I made two as it was devoured in a flash! 

Mini Cornmeal cakes with heirloom tomato relish. 
Verdict; too much work/effort!  Relish would be better served on toasted crusty bread.


Dinner/Main
Steak & chicken marinated in garlic teriyaki sauce
Green Beans with bacon & mushrooms
Marscarpone Mashed Potatoes
Balsamic Bell Peppers (inspired from Cooking light recipe)
BLT Panzanella Salad_Luscious_served dressing on the side; for those who wanted; I felt tomatoes did not need anything more than oil & balsamic vinegar





Dessert:  Expresso ice cream loaf! And pastries from the local bakery.

What a wonderful night! And the weather cooperated too!  Did not want the evening to end! Special thanks to our dear friend Donna, who not only helped me with food prep in the kitchen but ran out to the store when I realized I was missing an ingredient or two!
