Sue's Strombolli - A crowd pleaser!

Going out to dinner with friends for my birthday.  Been invited to “Jack & Jill” shower and I really can’t wait to meet River Robyn.   Heading out now with 2 strombollis hot out of the oven for their guests enjoyment as they celebrate this happy occasion!  Have to rush, afternoon is flying by and I have promised that I would be ready to go out for dinner by 6pm.  Shower is 45 min drive into the city (Pape & Danforth) and back again but it will be worth it!
Sue’s Strombolli

1 Fresh pizza dough (2 lb bag) wholewheat

Place dough in a greased bowl somewhere warm.  Let rise until doubled in size.  About 45 mins.
Meanwhile; cook ground beef and drain.

Combine:
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup olive or vegetable oil
½ t garlic powder
½ t salt
½ t pepper
½ t ground mustard
½ t oregano

Once dough has risen, divide in half and roll out making 2 15x12 inch rectangles.

Brush butter mixture over dough to ½ inch of edges

Top with each with:
½ the beef mixture
presliced pepperoni
1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
½ c shredded cheddar cheese
chopped onion

Roll up, starting with the long side, jelly roll style.

Placed on greased cookie sheet

Brush loaf with remaining butter mixture.

Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned.

Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

Approx 16 servings

Pictures do not do this dish justice; no man has ever complained and will devour this dish!  Would be great to serve if the gang were watching hockey, football or baseball game.
